Andi Shannon, RMT

Born and raised in the Alberni Valley, Andi was thrilled to return in 2008 to start practicing as a registered massage therapist. She left the Valley after graduation to pursue her athletic and academic goals in Vancouver, Victoria and overseas.

Christine Deyoung, RMT

Christine knew from high school that she wanted to study to be a registered massage therapsist. In December of 2012 she completed the intensive 3000 hour program and moved back to Port Alberni to start her career.

Kate Mancell, RMT

Kate completed the 3000 hour registered massage therapy program at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy (WCCMT) in Victoria in 2008. She uses a combination of her clinical experience and research to inform her patient centred care approach, providing individualized treatments for a variety of acute and chronic conditions.

Tim Keizer, RMT

Tim Keizer, born and raised in Port Alberni, is excited to be practising at Alberni Massage Therapy. Tim worked for many years as an acute care practical nurse at West Coast General Hospital, before pursuing further education in massage therapy. He graduated his massage therapy training from the Alberta School of Massage Therapy with high distinction.

Jen Shelest, RMT

Jen has 15 years experience as a RMT. She graduated from Victoria’s West Coast College of Massage Therapy’s 3000-hour program in 2007. She looks forward to helping you decrease muscle pain, relieve tension and restore mobility. She’s a good listener and provides accurate assessment and treatment that are specific and effective.

Kat Belisle, RMT

Kat is on a leave and we look forward to their return to the clinic.

Kat has a background as a small scale organic farmer, and still owns a farm in Port Alberni. She loves the wilderness, the trails, the river and streams, and spends a lot of her time outside. Kat graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2021.

Whitney Makenny, RMT

After graduating as a Registered Massage Therapist from New Westminster Whitney was overjoyed to be able to return to her hometown of Port Alberni.  In 2006 she moved to Kamloops to complete her Bachelors of Science in Cellular, Molecular, Microbial Biology.

Devon Sockett, RMT

Hailing from Ontario, Devon was drawn to the endless adventure that Vancouver Island provides. She has had the pleasure of calling the BC home for 10 years, and is still finding new trails to explore.

Ashley Hawkes, RMT

Ashley graduated from Victoria’s West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2016. Before starting massage therapy schooling, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Sport, Health and Physical Education from Vancouver Island University. Ashley grew up in Nanoose Bay and volunteered for seven years as a fire fighter and first responder for the local fire department.
